hope for football

Pesta Bola Merdeka

Malaysia, fronted by our U-23 players, won against Myanmar 3-1, yebedabeduuuuuuu!!
It was a much awaited victory, can't remember the last time we won against any international teams. It's funny how the juniors performed waaaaaaaay better than their seniors, physically and mentally. Baru la puas hati datang tengok, lari pun tak pancit.

"Hadiah ambang kemerdekaan" bak kata pengulas sukan. Coolness!

Yes I watch football every now and then, by watching I mean LIVE. It's more or less the same feeling I have during adventure racing, or while watching SURVIVOR - the adrenaline rush, the heart pumping along the drums beatings, watching the players, fellow racers getting ready, the feeling of being a part of something greater than you yourself. I love the atmosphere, the sounds, the colors, the unison of people and cheers and the passions in everyone's eyes, especially if your team won in the end.
There were few downers though, like for instance, upon arriving at the Shah Alam Stadium, we came across 4-5 buses of supporters of Myanmar, heading the same way. They walked in large groups, dan mereka kencing beramai-ramai di atas padang menuju ke stadium?!!! I mean, WTF?!! It's not like they were surrounding a tree or something, they just went off there and then, while talking out loud to each other, with those things sticking out like nobody's business, in the middle a walking crowd?!! How appalling is that?! Barbaric, and plain disgusting.

Our local supporters were no different. We may not wee wee in public but there were still those doing the classic pun of throwing bottles and other stuff not only into the field but to cameramen, or practically anyone walking by. Memalukan, mmg patut kene belasah dgn FRU. kerusi patah apetah lagi, dgn mercunnya, curi offside punya bendera, apa kejadahnya tuh?! Kira sopan sikiiiiit jela daripada penyokong Myanmar. Bukan semua la tapi, sebab nila setitik rosak susu sebelanga.

Nevertheless, we won!!! See, we can actually win football matches. I guess there's still hope for Malaysian football, as long as they don't let it get into their heads and end up worse than their seniors.

Happy Independence Day Malaysiaku!!!

broken

I'm loving my weekends.
My weekends have been spent wisely, with those I cherished.
Unlike my weekdays, nothing but boring stuff, shoving me into mind blowing restlessness, ending up sleeping my brains off from dawn to dusk until the break of dawn again.
Have you cried out of boredom? That's how bored I was.

I love spending time with my old friends, and my, how they have evolved.
Sometimes its downright frustrating, sometimes I can't help but smiling.
It is sad seeing those I considered 'beautiful', got broken along the process.
Got broken in certain aspects of life, not necessarily as a whole.

Like this friend of mine, with her chiseled feature and alluring nature, one would've thought she'd turn out to be a one of those pretty lasses with looks to die for.
She gained weight, end up with not-so-healthy complexion, not caring about how she looks.
Still pretty but she could have been prettier.

Another friend, beautiful mind, have always been level-headed, one of the best students in school; dropped out of college.

One friend, multi talented, a genius by all means, got her heart broken, leaving her forever stuck in that state of being left upon, those endless "why"s, changing her permanently from the fruitful person she was once, into this very sad person she is now.

Sayang sekali.

I have my share of cracks too. Seeing them made me thought of how I got broken myself...

Then again, who's complaining. They triumph in the fields or paths they've chosen.
Broken beauty is blessed with great career and a great guy in tow.
So does broken mind and broken spirit, they have influence, careers and even money not many people have.

It's true that beauty is to be preserved. Nevertheless, ugly to you may appear beautiful to others.
So what, you got broken, you screwed up, what's next? What about the rest of your life?

They, we, got broken from not focusing. We got distracted.
It's never to late to repair, or start over, start anew. Focus, get things done, stop throwing ourselves to sadness, or laziness, or restlessness.

So I started the week with some endorphin releasing, and it felt good!!
Tetapi saya sudah kebusanan kembali. Help.

"Welcome to wherever you are
This is your life,
you've made it this far.
Welcome, you gotta believe,
That right here right now,
you're exactly where you're supposed to be

When it seems you're lost, alone and feeling down.
Remember, everybody's different
Just take a look around"

p/s : Get well soon cikikuhh!!

diseased

I remember one time Abah brought home a book on stem cell research. I doubt he'd ever read it though, it was a gift from someone or like always, he practically bought anything and everything being shoved upon him. Stem cell is a state of the art biotechnology aiming at finding the cure for several diseases especially the Parkinson's, Alzheimer's and diabetes.

We often heard of the Parkinson's among the elderly but there were cases of it affecting people our age too; causing motor disturbance (affecting movements) and also non motor disturbances like sleeping and mood disturbance. Parkinson's, a disease synonym with the profound artist Michael J. Fox. My mom likes him ; "cute, baby face, I like!!" I added the " I like" part, sorry Mak, but seriously, she's fond of him.
Such multi talented person, such energy. It is heartbreaking to watch how the disease is physically affecting him, especially the first time he talked in Congress without taking his medication, just to proof his points.

I really hope we can find the cure in our lifetime, I really do.
"Stem cells are primal cells found in all multi-cellular organisms They retain the ability to renew themselves through mitotic cell division and can differentiate into a diverse range of specialized cell types.

There exists a widespread controversy over stem cell research that emanates from the techniques used in the creation and usage of stem cells. Human embryonic stem cell research is particularly controversial because, with the present state of technology, starting a stem cell line requires the destruction of a human embryo and/or therapeutic cloning.
President Bush, twice in his tenure, vetoed the passage of a bill that would ease restraints on federally funded embryonic stem cell research." Read the rest of it here
